Bullish entrepreneurs expect 50% sales growth next year

One in five of entrepreneurs at the helm of fast-growing companies still expect to increase sales by more than 50 per cent next year, a survey by the ScaleUp Institute suggests.

While the business owners were “very much more concerned” about the economic outlook in the UK, 90 per cent of the 338 polled said they were confident they could grow their companies in the next 12 months, while 20 per cent were even more positive, expecting sales growth of 50 per cent or more.

However, the respondents, whose businesses collectively generate £2.5 billion in annual revenues, also called for a reduction in the barriers to their growth, particularly around procurement from large private and public sector customers, both in the UK and overseas.
